In certain instances when the flow is designed with end-to-end automation, there have been significant improvements to business practices. In other words, transferring a file, having it uploaded to the national system, and an automated error report. When EPA requires (as in AQS) that program staff log-in to the national system to complete the data transfer, the answer is 'NO' - No significant improvements to business practices.
Planned Data Exchanges
- EIS is in the planning stage and we hope to have it in place by the end of 2010
- Upgrading RCRA Handler from v3 schema to v5 (once it is finalized by the RCRA IPT)
Shared Resources and Reusable Tools
- bulk XML dataloader - will sequentially submit single XML files from identified local folder to any node. Originally developed in cooperation with EnfoTech during the development, testing and production implementation of our TRI dataflow.
- NetDMR was developed through an EN challenge grant. NetDMR documentation and code are currently available on the EN site under an open source license.
Node Technology
Current status is operational, eNode2.0 developed by Enfotech.
Infrastructure is web clustered JBoss Java application servers with Oracle 10gRAC (all dataflows except for part of one) and Ingres (RCRA) databases.
Have not implemented any Node2.0 dataflows yet, but our new infrastructure has the functionality / capability.
