Node or Node Client - the pros and cons of each

This page is intended to give you perspectives on hosting your own node or being a node client and sharing nodes. Hopefully some of the questions will help you in making your decision.

NODE

WHAT IT ALLOWS YOU TO DO:

  • Have your own unique presence as a sovereign nation on the Exchange Network
  • Send (or "push" as it is called in these areas) data to others - either manually or on an automatic schedule that you set up
  • Request data of others
  • Publish your data - which means being able to respond to data requests from others without having to do anything
  • Share only the data you want to share

RELATIVE COST:

  • More expensive than a node client - although there are more and more free tools

NODE CLIENT

WHAT IT ALLOWS YOU TO DO:

  • Send data to others - manually
  • Request data of others
  • Share only the data you want to share
