Notes and Tidbits

From June 2008

In the spirit of getting the news out, here are recent items learned at NPRG meetings.

  • Jon Schweiss is now on detail to OEI from EPA Region 10 with the role of communications and outreach about the Network to senior state and federal officials. The NPRG briefly discussed opportunities to collaborate with him and discussed a division of labor in which the NPRG focuses on internal Network communications and John Schweiss focuses on external communication.
  • ENDS (Exchange Network Discovery Service): is at Oregon, but there is no interface. You have to register to submit a flow. However, the New Jersey browser can work with it. It needs to be ablt to specify Node 1.1 or 2.0. Chris Clark will have it done by the end of the summer.
  • Central Tools: The ENLC is developing a framework to decide which tools should be maintained by the Exchange Network (EN), and which ones should be made available (but not maintained) by EN.  :Examples:
    • Maintain: Network Browser
    • Available: HERE, NetDMR
