Environmental Data Standards Council (EDSC)

Environmental Data Standards Council (EDSC) was an independent forum established by the State/EPA Information Management Workgroup whose mission was to promote the efficient sharing of environmental information between EPA, States, Tribes and other parties through the development of data standards.  They developed environmental data standards to promote the exchange of information among States, Native American Tribes, and EPA. The Council identified those areas of information for which having standards rendered the most value in achieving environmental results, prioritizes the areas, and pursues the development of data standards.  The role has been subsumed by the Exchange Network Leadership Council (ENLC).
